Lifeswork is a production studio owned by Darren Sherrill who is a songwriter, producer and musician who creates music in a variety of genres including R&B/Soul, Hip Hop and Film/TV soundtracks.

EXPERIENCE

Darren began his career as a Music Producer with Nick Cannon’s NCredible Entertainment in 2002. In this position, Darren wrote and produced music released by Universal Music, Sony Music, Jive Records and Mowtown Records. Darren also wrote theme and background music for the first 5 seasons of MTV's Wild N' Out.

In 2008, Darren launched Lifeswork Entertainment and has written, produced and performed songs that have been featured in Film/TV projects that have been aired around the world on major television networks such as NBC, Fox, and ESPN in a variety of shows including Martha and Snoops Potluck Dinner, Chicago PD, Love and Hip Hop and Married to Medicine.

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I was part of the music production team for first 5 seasons of MTV's Wildin' Out and I have over 500 music placements on the show. I really loved that I got to create a variety of genres of music from Hip Hop to R&B to Comedy Parodies to Pop music.

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: I will work as hard on your project as I would on mine.

  5. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  6. A: That I can only write/produce R&B/Soul. I also produce Hip/Hop and Pop music.

  8. A: You have what it takes. Just trust and believe in the process.

  9. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  10. A: Laptop, keyboard, acoustic guitar, headphones and a microphone

  12. A: I started out as an artist, I was a sole R&B artist and I was in a rap group at the same time. My "gift" in the beginning was lyrics and melodies but over the past 25 years I have become and accomplished musician (multiple instruments), producer and recording engineer.
